Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid Will Consume Larger Percentage of GDP

The Government Accountability Office prepared the data for this chart using information from the Office of the Chief Actuary of the Social Security Administration, the Office of the Actuary of Medicare and Medicaid Services, and the Congressional Budget Office. The conclusion needs little explanation: Government spending for the big three entitlement programs, as a percentage of GDP, will triple in 70 years, primarily as a result of projected increases in healthcare costs.

I think a lot of this overspending in SS, Medicaid, and Medicare is being caused by hospital and caregivers bloating and gouging. Like when they charge you a minumum of 1 hour visit to the ER when there are more than enough people on staff to get you in and out quickly. But they make you stay for the whole hour to justify the high billing.
Elderly people are hit the worst. Caregivers will make unnecessary doctor and hospital visits a lot.
Workforce hospital visits are crazy. Get a scratch you go to the hospital to get it checked out, whether you need it or not. Like I said before, you wait and wait and get charged a full hour for what could have been a 5 minute visit. THEN you have to have a specialist look at it by REFERAL. Then you have to be released from a therapist and work hardened with a reduced work program.
I’m sure I left a lot out and I am not quoting any references other than what I have learned from people out here in the real world. Maybe I’ve learned wrong, but these stats seem to support what I have. We keep letting them do it to us, and its a similar scererio to the car makers and government spenders.
It’s because we dont want to get involved, so we elect someone to carry the ball for us. Then the ball carrier gets more pay and he now needs a ball carrier because it interupts his now much earned big vacation time, yada yada…..

Gawd people, is it any wonder this stuff is out of control?

ROSS, why didnt you run for PRES this year?!!
(btw, I’m a laid off TRW worker nearing retirement)
