Top 15 Oil Producing Nations – 2006

Saudi Arabia is the largest oil producer in the world. With one-fifth of the world’s proven oil reserves, some of the lowest production costs, and an aggressive energy sector investment initiative, Saudi Arabia is likely to remain the world’s largest net oil exporter. Russia is a major world oil producer, sometimes producing even more than Saudi Arabia. Following the collapse of the former Soviet Union , Russia’s oil output fell sharply, and has rebounded only in the last several years. Although the United States ranks third in terms of oil production, it only ranks eleventh in terms of proven oil reserves. U.S. oil production has been declining for years. In 2005, Hurricanes Katrina and Rita slashed oil output from the Gulf of Mexico.

Note: Data for the year 2006 is used in many of the charts in this series because it represents the latest year for which the U.S. Department of Energy has collected a complete set of information for all of the oil producing and consuming countries of the world. This provides the data that is used to accurately rank the countries in many categories. The DOE has not yet finished collecting all of the data from 2007. As a result, updated rankings for 2007 are not yet available. As can be seen in other charts in this section, sufficient data is available in some cases to produce accurate charts for the year 2007 and the year 2008 to date.

Just think back and remember how many of these countries we have helped. We must cut off our help to them with our military and funding. We must take back America and stop our involvement in stupid trade agreements that give away our jobs to third world countries. How do our useless politicians expect us to compete against Communist Red China’s minimum wage of $0.45 an hour?
Think back when our oil challenges all started, gas at the pump was on $0.25 a gallon. The OPEC nations started their financial terrorism against America and the Western world in 1973 and our useless politicians allowed it to happen. The price at the pump jumped to 75 cents a gallon overnight. We have allowed this to happen and we protect their miserable countries with our military’s blood. Think how much we will be saving if we are not dependent on other countries like Saudi Arabia, Russia and other oil producing nations.
On October 20, 1973, Saudi Arabia cut oil production forcing a 400 percent increase in global oil prices thus a drastic price increase at the gas pump. By early 1974 most of the world was hit by the worst slump since the Great Depression of 1932-1940.
Saudi Arabia used their ability to manipulate global oil prices and to initiate financial terror on the world. Their “oil weapon,” was used because they were angered by the immense weapons airlift to Israel announced by President Nixon on October 13. How many times have we protected the Middle East? We have kept them from killing each other. We need to take the handcuffs off Israel and let them attack anyone at any time the desire. Our involvement is not working. We have too many Arab loving terrorists in our State Department who will not let us do this.
