It would be helpful if the chart were correct. Recompute your percentages in the center column ("Income Taxes Paid")...it currently totals 104.1%.

[Editor - You are correct sir. The chart has been updated. Thanks!]

There are so many things I agree with on this blog. To me we have to get accountability with our senators and representatives in Congress. Even if we get the money to "right" the defict etc. ,etc. we still have to have people that can handle the money responsibly. History has shown that our current Congress isn't responsible. None of us could survive living in our own households if we continued to spend way beyond our means as Congress has done. It WILL eventually catch up to you. Unfortunately our country is almost there.

There is a local radio talk show host here in Dallas that has an interesting idea that he is birthing. Go to BlowoutCongress.com to get more info. Basically his idea is in the next election cycles, no incumbent gets re-elected. We have to start over with fresh people who will represent us in a responsible way. Sounds like a big task, but we the people have got to do something to take back our country. I'm tired of feeling like I have no voice. If enough of us get fed up with it all maybe we can get something done.

Look carefully at the charts above and you will notice that the percentages in the center column are NOT the tax RATE of the taxpayers; but the percentage of the total national taxes carried by that group. It is not possible from this chart to determine the overall tax RATE payed by the individuals in the various groups displayed.

the 105-150 group has 1/3 the number of people as the 65-105... and it pays 1/2. Seems to me this group is paying plenty of their own share! I wouldn't mind being in that group and make that kinda money. The congress must be making over 150... so they are the group paying 20%... so this group which is 1/4 the size of the 65-105 group is paying just as much in taxes!

I'm amazed how much of the tax burdeon the wealthly pay! 38% of the total tax burdeon is paid by 1% of the population. WOW. I suddenly appreciate all the "rad b_ _ _ _ _ _ s" paying for our country!

Interesting chart. Let me guess where most of Congress (and the Senate) is slotted? Why else would that group (mid 150's) only pay 10%, while the bracket above and below pay nearly TWICE as much - RAT BASTARDS!

They even pay less than the poor schmucks like me (in that 30-60k bracket) - UGH!

Vote 'em out...ALL OF THEM, time to start over.

This is not a fact the MSM shares with the public. And Mr. Obama hasn't mentioned it. They would both rather fuel class envy and hatred.

Broadcast TV still has the lion's share of the viewership, most of it controlled by leftist entertainment groups. The class envy agenda is promoted via entertainment, public education, and the media.

So how do you change the public perception of our problems?
